How did the project start?

This project began as a collaboration with an online course marketplace targeting students and children's programs. During the initial consultation, the client mentioned they had previously attempted some SEO efforts, but hadn't seen any significant results.

What was the problem?

When dealing with a massive website, my first step was to ensure proper crawlability of the pages. Upon examining the site using ScreamingFrog and Chrome Developer Tools, I discovered that the site relied entirely on JavaScript for rendering. This approach was far from SEO-friendly and posed a significant challenge.

As I delved deeper into the technical audit, I uncovered more critical issues. These problems were the root cause hindering the website's search visibility.

Executing the strategy

Addressing technical issues can be complex, especially when working with a large corporation involving multiple layers of communication. To achieve optimal results with minimal back-and-forth, I created a comprehensive spreadsheet for their development team to tackle the most critical issues promptly.

My primary goal was to ensure that course pages could be crawled, rendered, and indexed in Google Search. This laid a solid foundation for the later phases of the SEO campaign.
